About Us

The Counsellors have been operating in the Townsville/Thuringowa area for the last 6 years under the guidance of Director and Supervising Psychologist, Mrs Toni Mehigan.

Toni has worked in Community Health settings over a number of years and noticed a rising need in our region for quality, timely, cost effective support for everyday people who may be struggling. The Counsellors has endeavoured to fulfill the gaps left by government run services and we pride ourselves on innovation and committment.

Over the last 6 years The Counsellors has experienced tremendous growth. We now employ a Psychologist and four Counsellors. We accept referrals from all avenues including GP’s, self referral and community referrals. We are able to offer Psychology services for clients managed using a Mental Health Care Plan or an Enhanced Primary Care Plan.

All of our workers hold nationally accredited qualifications and full registration with their relevant boards and national organisations.

Counselling Rooms

We have 2 warm and inviting counselling rooms equipped with comfy chairs and air conditioning. All of our client sessions are completely private and confidential.
